Week of May 13-17

Literacy: Next week K-2 will be doing literacy assessments for the end of the year.

Math: Kindergarten will be working on identifying coins and their amounts. 1st grade will be taking the assessment on 2 digit addition and begin working on money.. 2nd grade will be finishing unit 7 focusing on story problems using length and reviewing fractions.

Science/social studies: We will be finishing our plant unit. To prepare for our zoo field trip we are beginning to classify animals and learn what they need to survive.

*****Field Trip to the Zoo Wednesday, 5/29 8:50-3:30 Permission slip and lunch ordering form are coming home today. Please return as soon as possible. No money is needed for this trip thanks to the Kohl’s Grant. If your are interested in chaperoning mark the form and we will get back to you. If you haven’t returned permission slips please do so ASAP. Thank you.

During the last 26 days of school the K-2 classroom will be doing a ABC countdown to summer break. Each day will be a special Letter day.

5/13 Monday - K Kick your shoes off

5/14 Tuesday - L Write a letter to someone

5/15 Wednesday - M Music while we work

5/16 Thursday - N Neon Day: Wear Neon clothes!

5/17 Friday - O Orange: Wear Orange today!
