K-2 Blog September 14-18, 2019
Kindergarten will be learning about how to use tally marks .
1st grade will continue to work on understanding fact families. They will use dominoes and bead racks to help them.
2nd grade will start to understand how to represent whole numbers as lengths on a number line. We will also be playing games to help kids mentally add 10 to any three digit number.
This week we learn how to summarize a story using the beginning, middle, and end graphic organizers.
Next week we have one more guest speaker that will be talking about her job.
Students will start to create posters to show information about the different places we learned about during our community helper project. We will share these posters with our families at gallery night in November.
We are looking for shoe boxes and small brown paper lunch bags for an upcoming project. If you have any please bring them in next week so we can build our 3-D community.
REMINDER!!! Please send a jacket with your child every day.
Next week, your child can bring back their special pumpkin book report to school.
The Kohlsville Fire Department will be at our school on October 17th from 10:15 to 11:30. They will do a presentation about fire safety.
PTO Halloween Bash is on October 25th. It is from 6 to 7:30. The night will include a costume contest, cookie decorating, music, dancing and lots of fun!
