Week of April 30th- May 4th
Math- Kindergarten will be learning about weight and capacity and will be using balances. We will also be reviewing math mountains. First grade will continue to practice two digit addition using tens and ones blocks and drawings. Second grade will be focusing on length word problems.
Literacy- We have finished KELS and Fastbrige (math and literacy testing). Next week we will start the F&P reading level testing. Those results will be on the end of the year report card. During testing week/s, we will be doing read alouds that correlate with the projects that we've been working on.
Project Time- We lucked out with 27 chicks hatching (out of 40). Mrs. Toth will be taking the chicks back to her farm at the end of next week. Next week we will be preparing for our Showcase event. It will take place on Thursday from 2:30-3:30, and 6-7pm. K-2 students will be presenting on the Animal Adaptations PLTW unit, and animal reports. After the showcase event, we will resume our unit on light and sound. That will be our final project of the school year.
Please make sure your child is not wearing flip flops at recess. If they wear flip flops to school, they will need to change shoes before recess.
