Week of November 12-16th
Literacy: Next week we will be teaching Nonfiction text features again, focusing more specifically on glossary, index, vocabulary, and pronunciation. Kindergarten mini lessons will focus on the difference between fiction and nonfiction, and sight words. You can practice identifying text features in nonfiction books at home. Kindergarten sight words will be: and, you, no.
Math: Kindergarten will be working on adding and subtracting one. 1st grade will be working on unknown partners and math mountains in addition equations. 2nd grade will be exploring two digit addition (totals method and new group method). Thank you 2nd grade for bringing in ads.
Social Studies: We will be preparing for Gallery Night which is Next Tuesday. We will also be discussing the history of Thanksgiving.
Once snow is on the ground, please make sure to send snow pants and boots with your child. If they do not have snow pants and boots, they will have to stand on the blacktop.
11/13-K-5th grade Gallery Night and Spaghetti dinner 4:30-6:30. K-2 has been asked to bring in dessert for Spaghetti Dinner.
11/21- Scholastic Book Orders Due. If orders come in after the deadline, you may have to wait until the next month.
11/22-24- Happy Thanksgiving. No School
