This week we worked on writing our names and identifying the letters in our names. We also worked on shape recognition, and patterns. We sponge painted leaves to look like the leaves in the book called Autumn Leaves. In Second Step we learned about how to focus our attention on the person talking. Oh, and everyone looked so nice for picture day yesterday! :)

Next week our focus will be on apples. We will use tissue paper to make an apple craft, do counting activities with apples, read some apple books, do an apple tasting, make an apple volcano, and make applesauce! Please send in an apple by Wednesday.

In Second Step we will be learning how to use self-talk to remind us of directions we need to follow.

Letter of the week will start next week. We will be learning the letter L. We will be practicing writing it, learn what starts with that letter, and learn the sound that letter makes. Your child should bring in an object that starts with an L for his/ her literacy bag (abc bag).  The clues for us to read to guess what's inside can be written on the bag or on a sheet of paper inside the bag. You can bring it on any day of the week and I'll send it back with a "thanks" written on it so you know that we did it. The kids have so much fun with this!

I sent home a confirmation for your home visit/ conference date and time. If that does not work for you, let me know.

 Have a great weekend,

Mrs. Stahl
