Week of 1/30-2/3
Math- Kindergarten will be working on counting to 20. First grade is working on counting to 100. Second grade is still working on subtraction with regrouping in the hundreds spot.
Literacy- Mrs. Stahl's group will start to do review activities with the sight words because we've learned all 51 sight words! Our K-2 mini lessons will focus again on poetry. Our mini lessons and small groups will focus on different types of poem, and the pattern and style that's associated with them.
Projects: Next week we'll working on our final product for this PLTW kit. The students will work in groups of three to create a playground with shelter from the sun's uv rays. For this project, students will be able to use a variety of materials such as construction paper, pipe cleaners, foil, paper plates, coffee filters, tape, etc. Your child is encouraged to bring in a shoe box and any other materials needed for this project. Thank you for your participation :) This final product will be set out at gallery night.!
PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING SHOES TO WEAR AT SCHOOL IF YOU COME IN YOUR BOOTS. SNOW PANTS WILL BE REQUIRED EVERYDAY IN THE WINTER MONTHS.
11/27- All School field trip to Milwaukee Public Museum & Planetarium. We will be leaving at 8:50. Please be here on time. Please dress your child is comfortable walking shoes and i4L shirts.
We will be celebrating the 100th day of school on Thursday, February 2nd. Please send in 10 unwrapped snack items in a plastic bag, such as goldfish, pretzels, crackers, marshmallows, etc) We will be using these for a counting activity and for a whole class snack.
**Just a heads up, please do not write names on Valentines. It will make passing them out go much quicker this way.
