February Newsletter

Our Student Government organized a Re-Gift Event, with the help of parent volunteers and many items donated from our i4L families they were able to raise $300.00 for the Washington County Humane Society. Thank you! - created at http://animoto.com

Principal's Message

Introduce your kids to RESPECT: Showing others they are important by what you say and do.

We have a busy month ahead with February upon us.  Hopefully Mr. Groundhog will not see his shadow and we can hope for spring weather a little sooner. Just a reminder that we do not have school on Feb. 17 (PD Day) and Feb. 20 (President's Day).

As we mentioned earlier this year, we've been working to re-vamp our Positive Behavior and Intervention Supports (PBIS) here at i4L this year.  We'll be focusing on a specific trait each month and tying it to our BEE Expectations (Be Safe, Be Responsible and Be Respectful).  Throughout the month of February we'll be teaching and doing different activities around RESPECT.  Be on the lookout for additional information via the blogs or newsletters.  Check out the video to the right that students watched together earlier today.

Please keep in mind as you are scheduling appointments and other family activities, each day a child misses school is time they are not part of their projects and activities in class. We do understand students get sick, and there are appointments that can't happen after school hours, and family vacations are very important. But please assist our teachers and staff by giving us as much notice as possible as these absences come up. Thank you for sharing your child with us each day!

Child Development Day - 2/24 Child development days provide parents with information about how their child’s development compares with general developmental expectations.  To schedule an appointment for your child aged 2 years, 9 months and older please call 262-626-8427 ext 8012.

On Saturday, February 25, 2017, Key Club will once again host the Annual “Super Soup Social” to raise funds for Friends of Abused Families.  The event is open from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Kewaskum High School Cafeteria.  Tickets are sold at the door; $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children 10 and under.  Adults will receive two bowls of soup and children will receive one bowl of soup. All will receive unlimited bread and beverage. A silent auction and bake sale will also be held.

Open Enrollment allows parents to apply for their child to attend school districts other than the one in which they live.  The application period is open from February 6, 2017 - April 28, 2017.  View the DPI website.

Automated Phone Calls - please take the time to listen to the voicemail left by automated phone calls.  We use this system to quickly reach all of our parents/guardians - as time is of the essence.  Please listen to the call and then determine if it is important to contact the school for a follow-up question/concern.  Our secretaries are overwhelmed with phone calls that come in during Early Release type days.  A reduction of incoming calls will help them better ensure that students (especially at the elementary level) are sent home safely.  Another way for you to see information about cancellations and closings is on our website and facebook page, please follow us on facebook.
