Week of April 4th-7th
This week we started our unit on seeds. We sorted seeds, learned about what seeds need in order to grow, and learned about how seeds move. We also started a classroom book called, Flowers, Flowers, Everywhere! (to work on positional words). We were going to plant our own seeds outside, but because of the snowy weather, we decided to hold off until next week. Hopefully the weather will be nicer!
I started reading in small groups with a few students! Helpful tips to remember when reading at home with your children are: have your child use a pointer to point to each word as they read, remind them to look at the pictures before/ while reading each page, and remind them to sound out unfamiliar words instead of guessing (what sound does each letter make).
For the Winnie the Pooh field trip on Thursday, please have your child here by 8:40am if you normally drop him/ her off. Thanks!
Have a great weekend!
