May Newletter

Principal's Message
Is it really May?!?!  Where did the time go?  We've had a lot of exciting things happening at i4L over the past month. Most recently we had another schoolwide project where students learned about recycling and made their own planter to celebrate Earth Day.  Our 3-5 grade cohort recently completed the State's Forward Exam testing! Thank you students for staying focused and putting forth your best effort. We also had a few activities tied to our health & wellness week with Jump Rope and Hoops for Heart. UW-Extension representatives also joined us early in April to discuss sugar content in different beverages and students had an opportunity to enjoy smoothies made with a blender bike.
On Monday, April 25 we had a Strategic Thinking Session where the i4L staff, governance council and PTO board members gathered to identify goals, priorities and action steps for the future of i4Learning.  It was a great experience to have some many different stakeholders in the same room together talking about how to continue with innovation and creating the best learning environment for our students!!
As we close out the last month of school please be sure to take time and reflect on your child's social, emotional and academic growth over the past school year.  In the day to day hustle and bustle it's easy overlook this, but it's so rewarding to see the growth of students over the school year. Be sure to take time to acknowledge and celebrate their growth.

Before & After School Childcare - Little Folks School House will be offering onsite child care next year at i4Learning!!!  Through the survey we learned there is a significant need for before and after school care.  Little Folks submitted a proposal and we have been working together to make it a reality for the 2016-2017 school year.  We will be sharing child care registration information from Little Folks in the next two weeks.  We are very excited about this opportunity and partnership!!  If you have questions feel free to contact Little Folks.
