Weekly Update & Reminders!
Happy New Year!! 2016 is here and we're already a week in. It was great to see all the students back at school this week. It didn't take long for them to get right back into routine with their learning. We had a pretty exciting week with some special visitors on Wednesday. Over break we received an email from State Senator Duey Stroebel's office indicating they were interested in visiting our school along with Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch and State Representative Jesse Kremer. A few of our 4th & 5th grade student government students provided our guest with tours of the school. The group then met with district office staff, council members and a few staff members. They were all very interested in learning about how our multi-age and project based learning environment works. Keep an eye out in next week's Kewaskum Statesman as their reporter was on hand for the entire visit and will be publishing an article and pictures.
Lunch Time Table Cups-we are trying out a team building excersise during our lunch time each day. This will give our students an opportunity to practice their team work skills, and also encourage exceptional lunchroom manners and behavior. Points are awarded to each table based on if their cups stays on green (great behavior), yellow (medium behavior), or red (questionable behavior). Bee Slips are handed out each day to individual students with great behavior, in addition at the end of each week points are counted, and the table with the most "green cup" points wins extra recess. At the end of each month points are counted and the winning table gets fresh movie popcorn as a treat!!
Items Still Needed!! - Ms. Cannesta is still in need of empty Kleenex boxes and soup cans for Fiesta Fun Night (January 25 6-8pm @ Kewasum High School). If you have any of these that you can spare please drop them off in the i4Learning office!
