Week of Sept. 28th-Oct. 2nd
Math- Kindergarten is working with the numbers 1-10. You can practice writing these numbers at home. 1st grade is working on simple addition facts 0-10. 2nd grade is working on word problems. Be sure that 1st and 2nd grade math homework is turned in by Monday each week. Kindergarten homework has now started. Kindergarten homework will be due on Mondays as well.
Literacy- 1st and 2nd grade state PALS assessments results will be shared at conferences. Kindergarten PALS assessment will start Oct. 12th. Please have your child read the book in their book bag to you each night and return it each morning. K-2 will be focusing on Character Traits in our stories next week. Practice this at home by having them identify the characters in the books they read at home. Mrs. Stahl's guided reading groups have been going well. I'm impressed with how quickly the students are picking up on identifying sight words and recognizing patterns within their stories. Our new words for the week were: are, the, can.
Projects- The kids will be doing their interviews on the business they are researching next week Tuesday. Following that, we will be going on a field trip to those businesses. Please return the permission slip asap. It will be sent home today.
- 9/30- KEYS mini run/ walk will be held at Farmington Elementary from 1:30-3:30pm.
- Guidance starts with Mrs. Mundigler for all students K-2 next week.
- There is no phone hooked up in the K-2 room. Please email one of the three of us instead. Thanks!
- We're looking for sandwich size ziploc bags. If you could send in a box, we'd greatly appreciate it!
