Week of Sept. 21st-25th
Math- Kindergarten is working with the numbers 1-7. We are also starting to work on shapes. You can practice writing these numbers at home. 1st grade is working on simple addition facts 0-6. 2nd grade is working on basic facts up to 20 and unknown addends. Be sure that 1st and 2nd grade math homework is turned in by Monday each week. Kindergarten homework has not started yet. Watch for it to come home in the next couple of weeks.
Literacy- 1st and 2nd grade will be completing the state PALS assessments. Results will be sent home after the tests are complete. Kindergarten will start bringing home book bags on Monday. Please have your child read the book to you each night and return it each morning. The students are getting used to rotating though literacy centers. Mrs. Stahl's group will be starting guided reading groups next week. They are also working on sight words each week. Our new words for the week were: is, to, we.
Projects- We've started our first project on communities. The first week went very well. The students choose a business they'd like to research. We will be having some guests come in to be interviewed in the next couple of weeks. Following that, we will be going on a field trip to those businesses. Please watch for a form to come home.
- 9/21- Wear PACKER GEAR and bring a DAIRY SNACK to be entered in a drawing for Packer tickets.
- 9/23- Picture Day- (please return your form by the 23rd if you'd like to purchase pictures.
