Week of 10/2-10/6

Math- Kindergarten will be continuing writing numbers 1-10, and learning about what addition and subtraction mean. They will also have homework sent home on Monday. It will be due the following Monday. It can be returned early if it's finished. First grade will be working on using addition strategies such as counting on. Second grade will be working on more complex word problems (comparing, not enough information, hidden information)

Literacy- Mrs. Radmer's and Mrs. Wheiland's groups will be learning about beginning, middle, and end. They will also be focusing on plot and summerizing. Mrs. Stahl's group will be working on problem and solution. Mrs. Stahl's group's new sight words will be: can, you, my.

Project Time- Over the next couple weeks, we will continue to learn about communities and community helpers. We will begin our research on the kinds of community helpers and what they do for the community. We will have guests from the community come in to be interviewed by the students. After that, students will have the opportunity to visit that business they've been studying.
